An articulated lorry too tall to pass under the railway bridge at Hillside on the A937 ripped it’s trailer roof off on Wednesday
The vehicle then mounted the pavement and crashed into a wall at lunch time on April 22.
A spokesperson said: “Police Scotland can confirm that officers attended at the railway bridge on the A937 near Hillside at about 12 p.m. on Tuesday (April 22) following a road traffic collision involving a lorry.
“A 40-year-old man has been charged in connection with road traffic offences.”
The driver was uninjured and within 10 to 15 minutes engineers from Network Rail were on site to examine the bridge.
There was no damage to the bridge, however, a wall below the bridge was damaged.
The incident delayed three trains by about 10 minutes each.
