Train services between Dundee and Aberdeen have been disrupted today after a lorry crash near Montrose.

Police were called to the accident on the A937 at Hillside, near Montrose, at 5.45am this morning after the tanker hit the railway bridge.

There were no injuries.

The A937 was blocked and closed for a while due to the crash.

A Police Scotland spokeswoman said: “Police Scotland attended at A937 Montrose to Hillside Road at 5.45am this morning (Monday, July 20) after reports that a tanker had collided with a bridge.

“No one was injured as a result.

“The road was closed for a short time and diversions were put in place.”
