Macmillan Cancer Support, the leading cancer care charity, is looking to recruit a volunteer with a passion for coffee and fund-raising to join the Angus and Tayside Fund-raising Team for three months.
The ‘Marketing and Media voluntary internship will help grow the charity’s biggest event, the ‘World’s Biggest Coffee Morning’ which takes place on Friday, September 27.
Shirlie Geddes, Angus and Tayside fund-raising manager, said: “This is a fantastic opportunity to be part of one of the most successful fund-raising events across the UK.
“Our intern will gain hands-on experience of fund-raising, marketing, media and PR, as well as working with volunteers.
“This varied role would suit applicants looking for a career in event management, marketing or fund-raising.
“You will be responsible for generating media coverage, promoting the event locally and ensuring all our hosts are supported in the best way possible.”
The successful applicant will be a creative self-starter with excellent organisational skills and will be confident building rapport with all types of supporters on the telephone and face-to-face.
The role is flexible over three to five days a week and runs from July 1 to October 3 (negotiable).
You will be mentored by a fund-raising manager and be part of a team of Macmillan Marketing and Media Interns across the country.
The internship is unpaid, but volunteers will receive out of pocket expenses within agreed guidelines.
A full, clean UK driving licence is essential for this role and you will need to have unrestricted access to a car and PC/laptop.
