A road traffic collision involving a blue Citroen Saxo, silver Peugeot and another car on North Esk Road, Montrose, on Monday (August 3) at 12.50pm saw a huge tailback of traffic in both directions.

A number of police cars attended the smash at the Lochside Bar.

Police Scotland confirmed that a 23-year-old man had been charged in connection with road traffic offences following the incident.

A report had been submitted to the Procurator Fiscal and the man was expected to appear at Forfar Sheriff Court yesterday (Tuesday, August 4).
