Merpro hung on till half-time thanks to a stout rear-guard defensive display.
Half-time: Merpro 0, Logie Harp 0.
On a breakaway attack Findlay managed to clear a low shot to safety in 50 minutes.
Merpro resumed their attacking and made the breakthrough when Duff turned inside the box in 52 minutes, escaping his marker, but as he was about to shoot he was brought down for a penalty kick.
ALLAN stepped up and calmly despatched into the back of the net in 52 minutes to open the scoring.
Merpro were rampant and went further ahead four minutes later when the galvanised Duff again wriggled clear of his marker with the ball falling into the path of a breaking run from midfield from ALLAN who clinically curled a low drive into the net from 16 yards.
Logie were on the backfoot as Merpro dominated the midfield, but the visitors began to chase the match, pushing on extra forwards. A Wallace effort crashed off the top of the bar in 75 minutes.
A speculative 30-yard strike by Whitworth went over the bar in 78 minutes.
Merpro looked to be going further ahead but Milne’s flick shot on the stretch from 16 yards went agonisingly over.
In the closing minutes Logie’s Wallace, who had become increasingly irritated, was sent off for a two-footed lunge tackle.
This win leaves Merpro a commanding seven points clear of Logie, in second place with three matches still to play.
