Adventurous duo Norman Stephen and Bryan Christie raised more than £2,000 for MoFest by cycling from John o’ Groats to Lands End.

The two flatmates, of Bridge Street, finished their cycle of more than 1,000 miles last month, rasing £2,200 for the music festival, which they have now presented to the event’s chairman, David Paton.

Mr Paton said: “Despite the overwhelming success of this year’s Montrose Music Festival, we run the event on a very tight budget.

“Fund-raisers like this are hugely important as they help us to be able to attract bigger and better bands to Montrose year on year.”

He added: “We are massively grateful to Norman and Bryan for undertaking this gruelling adventure, and to everyone who donated.”

Due to work and university commitments, two members of the MoFest committee are standing down, so the event’s team is now looking for highly motivated and enthusiastic volunteers to get involved.

If you feel that you have the time and necessary skills to assist the group during the run up to and over the festival weekend, please send a short letter or e-mail to the team, telling them a bit about yourself and what you can bring to the group.

You can send the letter via e-mail to or via post to Montrose Music Festival, PO Box 7189, Montrose DD10.
