Montrose building firm, MCK Construction, has been listed as a finalist in three categories of the 2016 North East Trades Awards.

Since the company was set up in 2009 by local tradesman Tom McCrank, it has developed a reputation as one of the ‘go to’ building firms in the local area for quality workmanship in the new build, home extension, renovation and general building work sectors.

The company entered this year’s Trades Awards and has been listed as finalists in the three categories - the maximum allowed - entered.

These were the ‘Home Improvement, Interior’, ‘Home Improvement, Exterior’ and ‘Customer Service’ sections.

This is no mean feat, particularly as this year has seen increased competition due to the large number of firms entering.

Speaking of MCK’s success, Tom McCrank said: “Although we are aware of the need to be competitive on price, the company sees its reputation for quality and customer care as its greatest asset.

“Being a finalist in three categories will help us recruit first class tradesmen, attracted to the company because of its reputation for quality and customer satisfaction, and improve morale and job satisfaction among the existing staff.”

Tom and his team will now have an anxious wait until June 10 to find out if they have made the top spot in any of the categories.

Launched in 2013, the awards, which are sponsored this year by the Stewart Milne Group, aim to reward and recognise excellence within the North-east trades and construction industry.
