Montrose lifeboat rescues yacht

The Montrose all-weather lifeboat RNLB Moonbeam was launched to assist a yacht which had lost all power.

The lifeboat with its volunteer crew was launched at 3.12pm on Tuesday (September 1) and proceeded to the scene, 41 miles east of Montrose, arriving at 6.14pm.

The yacht, with three people on board, was towed to Montrose, arriving back in port at 1am.

Once the yacht was safely moored, RNLB Moonbeam was berthed, refuelled and made ready for service at 1.30am.
