Montrose man’s film trumps again

MONTROSE’S Anthony Baxter reports that his documentary film, ‘You’ve Been Trumped’, has won a fourth major prize, this time in New York: the Victor Rabinowitz and Joanne Grant Award for Social Justice at the Hamptons International Film Festival.

The film was earlier branded ‘a failure’ by the Trump Organisation.

The festival attracted Hollywood celebrities including Susan Sarandon, Alec Baldwin and Matthew Broderick.

‘You’ve Been Trumped’ has now been invited to the Doc Filmmaker ‘Taking on Power’ event in New York this week at the Paley Center for Media. Director Mr Baxter will be present for a public panel, which will be moderated by New York Daily News film critic Joe Neumaier.

Mr Baxter told us: “To receive this award for Social Justice at ‘You’ve Been Trumped’s’ New York premiere is a real honour.

The filmmakers behind ‘You’ve Been Trumped’ have launched a crowd-funding campaign aimed at securing worldwide distribution for the film after a series of sell-out screenings across Scotland.
