Montrose will be turned into a ‘House of Fun’ as Montrose Music Festival has contracted midsummer Madness for a bonus gig - on top of the annual May Festival!
Montrose’s East Links will be transformed when Madness arrives in the town for their only Scottish show as part of a 20-date UK Tour, this summer.
Fresh off the road from their sell out 2014 arena tour, the seven-piece band will take centre stage for an open-air performance at the town’s East Links on Sunday, July 5, as part of their ‘Grandslam Tour’.
The Montrose Music Festival (MoFest) team assure us there will still be a headline act in the town hall on the Friday of the festival from May 22 to 24.
Madness’s Montrose concert is one of only 20 shows they will be performing between May and September 2015, at some of the greatest sporting venues across the country.
Suggs of Madness said: “We’re really excited to be playing in Scotland as part of biggest outdoor tour ever. The show will offer concert-goers the experience of an outdoor event with a festival vibe, set on Scotland’s stunning coastline.
“Our fans are always so supportive so we’ll give them a great night when we come to Montrose.”
Madness will be performing inimitable quirky pop classics, such as ‘House of Fun’, ‘Baggy Trousers’ and ‘My Girl’. The band will also be performing some of their new songs; their first new recordings in three years.
Tickets for ‘Grandslam’ Madness in Montrose go on sale on Friday (March 6) at 10 a.m. and are priced from £35 and are available from Montrose Town Hall on Friday and Saturday (March 7) between 10 a.m. and 12 noon, as well as online at www.ticketline.co.uk or by ‘phone on 0844 888 9991.
