MSPs have chance to view Trump film

POLITICIANS will have the chance to view the award-winning documentary ‘You’ve Been Trumped’ at Holyrood less than 24 hours before the businessman addresses a parliamentary committee.

The film, by Montrose documentary maker Anthony Baxter, will even be shown to MSPs in the same committee room this Tuesday (April 24) as the Economy, Energy and Tourism Committee meeting will take place.

Mr Trump recently launched a scathing attack on the Scottish Government’s encouragement of wind farms - one of which would be visible from his new Aberdeenshire golf course - and announced he would bankroll an anti-wind farm campaign “to save Scotland”. He was subsequently invited to address the committee about wind farm development.

The film follows the controversial development’s progress and the screening will be followed by a panel discussion moderated by the BBC’s Janice Forsyth.

Mr Baxter said: “We wanted to make sure there was absolutely no excuse for Parliament to be seduced a second time by Mr Trump and his PR machine when it comes to upending the country’s environmental policies. Some will say that after destroying one of the most significant coastal sand dune systems in the UK it is remarkable Mr Trump is testifying at all about an environmental matter.”
