MORE than 250 people flocked to Montrose Museum over the recent bank holiday weekend to view its exhibition relating to golf in Montrose over the last 450 years.
Two additional events have also been organised, linked to this year’s 450th anniversary of the town’s connection with the game.
A walk around the historic course, explaining how it has changed in more than four centuries, will be held this weekend on Friday, May 18 and Saturday, May 19 at 2pm. A talk on May 30 and June 6 at 7.30pm about how the game of golf has changed will be hosted in the museum and will cover the development of the course and of local clubs. Places are limited, and can be booked by contacting the museum on 01674 673232.
David May, chairman of the 450 golf links committee, said: “Montrose Museum staff have devised two excellent additions to the superb exhibition in the museum and they deserve our thanks for organising this as yet more events in our year of celebration.”
