The art gallery in The Pavilion @ Stracathro Cafe in the grounds of Stracathro Hospital is hosting a new exhibition of watercolours and etchings.
They are the work of Allan Beveridge, who was an art teacher in Dundee for many years.
Allan said: “I have always been stimulated by painting outdoors, direct from nature. Even while at Art College in Cambridge and Dundee, I would go off for a day on my bike with a sketch book into the countryside.
“Having retired from teaching, in recent years I have had the opportunity to spend many days drawing and painting out in woodland in Angus and Fife. The watercolours in this selection were done on the spot in Ethie Woods in Angus, Tentsmuir, Balbirnie and Lochore Meadows in Fife. The show also includes etchings made at Dundee Print Studio from studies made on the spot.
“I feel that the natural light and airy atmosphere of the Pavilion at Stracathro will suit my work and I hope that visitors will enjoy the work and maybe even find it therapeutic.”
The cafe is open every day from 8 a.m. until 4 p.m and exhibitions are changed roughly every eight weeks,
The majority of the works of art on display at the gallery will be for sale with each artist donating 20 per cent commission of sales to the Stracathro Endowment Fund.
