Angus Council has launched a new low cost home contents insurance scheme for its tenants.
The scheme, provided by Aviva, will help tenants protect themselves against the risk of fire, theft or damage to their possessions from as little as 72p per week. There is no excess to pay in the event of a claim, no minimum security requirements, such as alarms or special lock.
The council’s housing spokesperson Councillor Donald Morrison said: “This new scheme offers our tenants an excellent opportunity to insure their home contents easily and at a good price.
“Losing your possessions through a theft, or having them damaged in a fire or other circumstances, can be devastating for individuals and families. For a small sum each week our tenants can have peace of mind that their belongings are covered by insurance.”
An application pack is available at www.angus.gov.uk/houseins or at any ACCESS Office or by ‘phoning ACCESS line on 08452 777 778.
