No suspicious circumstances

Police Scotland have confirmed to the Review that a 42-year-old man who was found deceased within the communal close at his address in Christie’s Lane, Montrose on Sunday (August 9) has been formally identified.

He has been named as John Higgins of Montrose.

There are no suspicious circumstances and an initial sudden death report has been submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.

Police are still keen to speak to anyone who met with or spoke to John on Saturday evening (August 8) or in the early hours of Sunday morning (August 9), as they may have information that could assist with ongoing enquiries. Anyone with information is asked to contact Police Scotland on 101.
