FORMER Montrose resident Charlotte Brimner (15) has been successful in two auditions with Live and Unsigned, and is now through to the area final in Newcastle.

Charlotte lives in Kellas but was born in Montrose and her grandparents Mary and Dave Brimner still live here.

She has been influenced by artists from Bob Dylan to Paolo Nutini and Adele to Lady GaGa.

She began playing guitar just over a year ago and soon began writing her own material. With covers she always adds her own twist to make them her own.

Charlotte has been described as a talented original artiste who has a rustic charm with an expressive genuine gift.

Her You Tube page has two mixed covers and an original at http://www.youtube.com/channel/UCnDbqnF7A6OGXpYbZyu0gcA/videos

The area final is on May 12, and if Charlotte is again successful she will play at London’s O2 in the grand final of Live and Unsigned which is part of Live Fest; London’s biggest indoor festival.

Acts taking part in the live area final in front of hundreds of spectators will also be performing to a professional judging panel, including judges from Radio One, Kerrang and Choice FM.

More than 10,000 acts entered nationally and the few still left in the competition are in with a shout to win the £10,000 main cash prize and take part in the Live and Unsigned festival tour.
