THE ANNUAL Macmillan Cancer Support Christmas Fayre in Montrose Town Hall was a great success last Sunday.
Stallholders brought a wide variety of products and produce to the venue, and the people of Montrose were, once again, generous in their support.
A big bonus was the arrival of Santa. All the children were excited when he arrived, and the queue to see him in his impressive grotto stretched down the hall.
Organisers told the Review that a huge boost they had was in the support they received from pupils of Montrose Academy, and from Montrose Guides.
They were on duty throughout the event, helping stallholders, working in the cafe, and delighting the children by escorting them to visit Santa.
Secretary Pat Lampen continued: “These young volunteers are to be congratulated for their goodness and unstinting support of our charity.”
The Montrose and District Committee will be holding a Speakers’ Dinner on Saturday, March 16 at the Links Hotel.
Tickets will be available from January 1 and will cost £35.
Pat Lampen concluded: “Do come along and enjoy not only a really delightful dinner, but also the fun of having three superb speakers who will entertain you.”
