MONTROSE band Peyton Place have put the finishing touches to their debut EP and are now preparing to set out on the road for a series of big-name gigs.

Although the band have only been together for little under a year they are excited to have come so far so soon with a showcase at the Royal Concert Hall in Glasgow to look forward to on March 12.

In Glasgow, Peyton Place will be battling it out with other upcoming Scottish bands to make it through to the next stage of Surface Unsigned.

The band, comprising brothers Chris, Nick and Matthew Tomlinson, along with Ross McCrank and Joe Hall, played their first gig at the Montrose Music Festival last year and have since played further concerts in Montrose and Aberdeen.

They are planning on playing at the Music Festival again this year and vocalist Chris said: “it’s like we have gone full circle.”

The band hope that with their upbeat pop/rock songs with catchy chorus’, tight vocal harmonies and energetic music they will go far.

First things first, however, as the band look to release their four-track debut EP at a special launch party at Sharky’s Bar in George Street on Friday, March 4.

To help the band celebrate the release there will be an acoustic set from Jake Lawson before the band themselves take to the stage to play some brand new material, including their upcoming single. To round off the night DJ Nick Targontsidis will play into the small hours.
