Aly Bain and Phil Cunningham have become a national institution with their incomparable mastery of fiddle and accordion, bringing excellence in traditional music to venues across the country.

Individually they pursue other ventures in performance, television and education.

Aly is Scotland’s supreme traditional style fiddler. His playing is unique - driving, impassioned and pure - with vibrant, unmistakable tone that has earned him a following of ardent fans throughout the world.

Phil is recognised as a superb, innovative instrumentalist - the man who, in Scotland at least, made the accordion respectable again. He also plays fine keyboard and whistle and as a composer his range extends from heart-tugging slow airs to vibrant tunes for a string of successful theatrical productions to full-scale concert suites. When they tour together they truly shine with over quarter of a century of well honed skills and hilarious banter delighting audiences everywhere.

Their 2014 Scottish tour is underway and on Wednesday, August 27 they will be in Kirriemuir again.
