Following reports that Shadow Chancellor Ed Balls said that parts of the country with lower housing costs could face lower welfare caps under a Labour government at Westminster, Nigel Don MSP, commented: “Westminster does not work in the interest of the Scottish People.

“We knew Scotland would be hammered by the Tories as they safeguard the south-east, now even the alleged ‘party of the people’ is set to hammer the Scots. Only a YES vote can assure that a Scottish Government voted in by Scots with the full sovereign powers of an independent nation can preserve us from Tory and Labour cuts.”
