VIDEO: Cracking Angus turnout for Referendum

According to available results the people of Angus can be proud to have achieved one of the high end turnouts in a vote characterised by excellent voter engagement.

In the early hours of Friday Angus Council chief executive officer Richard Stiff officially declared that 85.7 per cent of Angus’ registered voters had taken part in the Independence Referendum.

Other regions also had similarly high turnouts: Dundee 79 per cent; Aberdeen 82 per cent; Stirling 90.1 per cent; East Renfrewshire 90.5 per cent.

Graeme Dey, MSP for South Angus, said: “This turnout reflects that people are energised by the whole political process.”
