THERE are just a few more days for local people to have their say on the future of post office services in Ferryden.
A consultation exercise launched last month by Post Office Ltd., will close this Tuesday, August 23, and everyone affected by the recent branch closure is being urged to have their say.
The company is proposing to introduce an outreach service which would operate on two days from Inchbrayock Church hall. The post office was closed temporarily in April after the resignation of the sub-postmaster.
The service would operate between 9.30am and 12 noon on Wednesdays and 1 and 3.30pm on Fridays. If accepted, this would begin in September.
Councillor David May said it is important for everyone to contributed their views to the process.
He said: “In the view of all the councillors and the community council it’s vital to have a post office service, even an outreach post office, in the village.”
Comments or concerns about the proposals should be addressed to Brian Turnbull, c/o Post Office Ltd, National Consultation Team, PO Box 2060, Watford, WD18 8ZW.
