Montrose Academy pupils were given a fascinating insight into aspects of the county’s history during a recent visit to the Angus Archives.

The members of the school’s Archive Group were shown some of the artefacts held at the Restenneth archive including a number of Brechin Cathedral seals and accounts from the witch hunts in Forfar during 17th century.

The group also learned about resources required for the storage of Montrose Academy’s own archive as well as the different types of materials in an archive and how important these are future generations.
