Radio to provide community link

PLANS are in hand for young people from across Angus to set up and run their own internet radio station.

Angus Youth Action, supported by Angus Council’s community learning and development service, is planning to set up the community radio station to engage all groups in the county as well as deliver skills, build community spirit and connect communities to the agencies that serve them.

The project will provide training opportunities and skill accreditation for anyone who wants to be part of it and these can include in areas such as radio production, recording equipment, interview and questioning skills and research.

Anyone interested in becoming part of the planning group should attend the next meeting of the group on Tuesday, February 5 at 7pm in Angus Council’s Bruce House, Arbroath.

Anyone who cannot attend the meeting but would like to be kept up to date on developments should e-mail with their contact details. Further information is also available by contacting Rikki or Grant on 01307 473662.
