X Factor star Ray Quinn is heading to Montrose for a live concert in May at the town hall.
He will be accompanied by his band and will be previewing his new album, as well as singing a selection of classic hits on Saturday, May 2.
Ray’s first acting role was in the popular Liverpool-based soap Brookside, though he is more famously known as the runner-up in the third series of X Factor to Leona Lewis in 2006.
His debut album ‘Doing It My Way’ went straight to number in one in the UK charts when it was released it 2007. It also went platinum in its first week.
In 2009, he won the fourth season of ITV’s ‘Dancing on Ice’ when he was paired with professional ice skater Maria Filippov.
Last year, several finalists from all eight series of ‘Dancing on Ice’, including Ray, entered the ninth and final series called ‘All-Stars’. Ray was again paired with Maria and the duo went on to win the show.
Earlier this year he was also crowned winner of ITV’s celebrity talent show ‘Get Your Act Together’ where famous faces teamed up with some of the world’s most talented variety acts to put on a unique performance.
Ray has also starred in many West End musicals, including ‘Grease’, ‘Dirty Dancing’, ‘The Rise and Fall of Little Voice’ and ‘Legally Blonde’.
He is currently recording his new album and says he is inspired by Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin and the Rat Pack.
