Roadworks to take place on A90

Overnight works on the A90 Fordoun to Laurencekirk southbound carriage way will start on Monday (September 7)

The works will improve the road surface following a £181,000 investment by Transport Scotland.

Overnight improvements to a 1.2km section of the southbound route between the Fordoun and Mill of Conveth junctions will start on Monday for four nights, and will involve resurfacing of the southbound carriageway and refreshment of the road markings.

A convoy system of traffic management will be in operation with a 10mph speed limit to help keep workers and motorists safe during the working hours of 7.30pm to 6.30am.

Commenting on the works, Andy Thompson, BEAR Scotland’s North East Unit Representative, said: “These works will repair a number of potholes and fretting issues which will improve the general condition of the road for motorists.”

“The programme of improvements are being carried out overnight to minimise delays. We would, however, encourage motorists to plan their journeys in advance and allow some extra time.”

Materials removed from the existing carriageway will be recycled using SEPA approved methods.
