Rotary guests

AT LAST week’s meeting of Montrose Rotary Club, president Chris Hardy welcomed this year’s two Rotary Youth Leadership Awards (RYLA) camp awardees, Gillian Inglis and Jack Cavanagh, who gave a presentation on their experiences.

RYLA is a programme aimed at 15-to-18-year-olds. Candidates are chosen who demonstrate leadership qualities which can be developed by attending the RYLA camps and being exposed to situations, designed to stretch the candidates physically and mentally, and hone their leadership skills.

The camps are situated at the Abernethy Outdoor Centre near Aviemore and last a week for each candidate. Gillian and Jack were presented with their certificates for completing the programme of activities at the camp.
