The Royal British Legion Scotland Montrose Branch Committee met for their monthly meeting.
The ‘Silent Tribute’ was observed and the Past Vice- President David Oswald quoted Bynion’s Lines.
Consideration is to be given to the proposal of investigating the problems of containing wreaths at the cenotaph.
Reports received from the sections revealed that the Welfare Section continued with its hospital visiting, and would be attending the funeral of the President, David Watson.
The Social Club is continuing to find extra attractions through events, and donations to assist support are continuing to come in.
Concern has been expressed at the thoughtless theft of timber stolen from the yard, earlier in the year. This had been provided to replace deteriorating sills on the windows.
When news has been well published of the difficulties that the branch has been experiencing this thoughtless act is very distressing.
New membership has seen the branch increase by a further six joining the ranks.
The unveiling of a memorial slab at Carnoustie will be attended by the Branch Chairman and his wife, and the Vice Chairman.
