THE SEARCH is on for a performer to star with some of the country’s best-loved children’s entertainers.
Following last week’s announcement that The Singing Kettle creators Cilla Fisher and Artie Trezise plan to retire from the performing side of the business early next year, the company is looking for a new addition to the team.
Cilla said: “We are looking for the right person to continue the success. It’s a once-in-a-lifetime job opportunity and I have loved every moment of the past 30 years. Now is the time for us to step down and bring in a new female member to join Gary and Kevin.
“If I can give any tips to the applicants it would be to bring their biggest smile with them along with bundles of personality.”
There will be an initial application and audition process for potential stars and the opportunity to audition in front of the existing Singing Kettle cast.
Artie added: “It may sound a little like ‘who can fill Cilla’s shoes’ but we are really open-minded as to what the new member should bring to the show. We want to see as many people as possible before we make the final decision.
“Cilla and I are really excited about the process and the opportunity it gives us to shape the show for the future.”
Auditions will take place on Sunday, November 4, and full details of the Singing Kettle’s history, an outline profile of the new cast member and application details are available online at www.singingkettle.com.
