SINCE leaving construction and recording his first album in 1999, Scottish-born Canadian David Francey is recognised as one of today’s finest singer-songwriters.
He is currently touring the UK to accompany the release of his ninth album “Late Edition,” which has garnered much praise and two Canadian Folk Music nominations. On Tuesday, September 4, you are invited to an evening of songs, singing and a buffet supper with David and his accompanist, Mark Westberg at the Kirriemuir Old Parish Church Hall, from 7pm to 10pm, organised by the Angus Folk.
David has performed at all of Canada’s major folk festivals and Denmark’s prestigious Tonder Festival, England’s Towersey Village Festival in Oxford and the Carrying Stream Festival hosted in Edinburgh. He has also hosted workshops that included artists such as Jesse Winchester, Dougie MacLean and Ray Bonneville.
The price of the workshop is £8, or £6 for a concession and Angus Folk members. To book a place at David’s workshop, please call 07842 227202, or book online at : www.angusfolk.org
