SONGS of Praise services return to Glenprosen Church this coming Sunday (April 3) and will continue throughout the summer on the first Sunday of each month until September.
All the services will start at the usual time of 6pm.
For a number of years the services have attracted regular attendees, as well as visitors from near and far, who have come together for an hour of hearty hymn singing of well known hymns and songs.
The services are led by Lamont Forbes at the organ, and the atmosphere is joyful and quite informal. Anyone is welcome to join the congregation, whether having made a special journey or just come off the hills.
The first service will include favourite hymns such as, ‘Guide me O thou great Jehovah’, ‘Amazing Grace’, ‘Love divine’, and ‘Her I am Lord’. Following the service, everyone is invited up to the village hall where light refreshments can be had, courtesy of friends in the glen.
As in the past, all retiring offerings will go to The Guide Dogs for the Blind Association which has already received many hundreds of pounds from the summer services over the years.
