MONTROSE lifeboat crew responds to dozens of SOS calls every year but this week has issued its own plea for help.
The community is being asked to rally round and answer the crew’s calls to “Support Our Show”, an RNLI fund-raiser organised by local women Lynn Coull and Emma MacDonald with the backing of the Montrose Lifeboat Guild.
Proceeds from the gala night, which will be held in the Town Hall on Saturday, January 21, will go towards lifeboat crew training and equipment.
Lynn and Emma have already signed up talent from a number of local organisations including Centre Stage, the Esk Academy of Dancing, the Gordon School of Dancing, Song Shop and Stooshie, who were among the hit acts of this year’s Montrose Music Festival.
The variety show will be compered by guild member Joe Wishart and Sheila Mann, who will also present a tribute to Captain Peacock and Mrs Slocombe from the classic TV comedy Are You Being Served”.
Joe said: “It will be a great night of family entertainment. The SOS has gone out for the public to support the show and the wonderful work done by the volunteers for the lifeboat.”
