TAYSIDE Police will next week launch its annual summer roads campaign in Montrose, targeting all aspects of safety.
Officers will be at the Tesco store on Western Road to highlight the campaign, one of several such events taking place across the county.
These aim to educate and advise road users of the dangers of failing to wear seatbelts, failing to have children in appropriate car seats, drink driving and speeding.
The force hopes to highlight and promote awareness of these issues to the public and, as a result, significantly reduce road traffic collisions and road casualties on Scotland’s roads.
Road policing officers will be present, along with local community liaison officers, to answer any driving or vehicle-related questions and Tayside Safety Camera Partnership will also attend some of the events where drivers can try out a driving simulator which will gauge their hazard perception and reaction times.
Officers will also give out information about vehicle maintenance, child car seats, the dangers of drink and drug driving and general road safety advice.
The Montrose event will take place at Tesco on Friday, June 1 between 10am and 3.30pm.
