AROUND 80 employees at a Montrose harbour office were evicted following the delivery of a suspicious package.
It is understood that last week’s incident (Wednesday, April 13) on the south quay developed when staff at Inchbraoch House became concerned by the delivery and contacted the police at 4.30pm.
Police evacuated the premises as a precaution until a bomb disposal team attended.
One eyewitness said that the evacuation lasted about three hours and during the course of the investigation most of the employees went home.
After the investigation bomb disposal experts found the package was not dangerous.
It is not known what the package contained or where it was sent.
