Take care over choice of venue

ORGANISERS of the annual Best Bar None awards are urging Christmas revellers to choose carefully the venue for their Christmas night out.

The organisation has said that bars, clubs and venues that hold a Best Bar None award are safer, more welcoming places to visit, especially in the busy and often hectic Christmas period.

Ashley Kellock, Scottish co-ordinator, said: “Our Best Bar None venues have undergone a series of rigorous checks and inspections to ensure that they are well managed and offer excellent customer service.

“All too often trouble can break out in our towns and cities at Christmas and no-one wants that. In a Best Bar None venue you will find trained staff, a safe environment and a warm welcome where you can enjoy your night out without any worries or fears. Please check out the website for a venue near you.”

Best Bar None venues will ensure that customers will leave their premises safely and can often order taxis. They will also often have a drivers’ deal on non-alcoholic drinks and have staff that care about their patrons’ welfare.

The scheme, sponsored by Diageo, Molson Coors and Heineken and is supported by the Scottish Government and the Scottish Business Crime Centre, works with partner agencies and licensed premises to create safer city and town centres.
