AS one of the biggest selling groups of all time, The Drifters has featured over 60 different vocalists in a unique and dynamic history spanning six decades.
On Thursday, October 20 fans can see and hear the latest line-up at the Caird Hall, Dundee, at 7.30 pm.
This high energy concert highlights the numerous vocal reincarnations of the group, from early Doo Wop classics such as “Fools Fall in Love” and “Let the Boogie Woogie Roll” to much loved early pop/rock ‘n’ roll hits such as “More than a Number”, “Come on Over To My Place”, “Up on the Roof”, “Under the Board Walk”, and “Kissin in the Back Row” and “Save the Last Dance For Me”. The show also features tracks from the disco era as well as the latest releases following the more recent re-invention of the group.
Since 1953, more than 65 vocalists have performed as part of the group, including icons such as Clyde McPhatter, Ben E King, Rudy Lewis and Johnny Moore.
During this time, the only constant has been the Treadwell family, who founded the group back in 1953 and who still own the group to this day. Ticket details from the box office on 01382 434 940.
