Eager Ash fans were quick off the mark to bag tickets for this year’s Montrose Music Festival’s headline concert with 200 flying off the shelf within the first two minutes of online sales.
Northern Irish indie rock group Ash were announced as the headline act for Montrose Music Festival (MoFest) last week.
The tickets for the band’s gig sold so well and beyond expectations online that the MoFest team have had to increase the number they are selling on the Internet. Tickets were also on sale at the Links Hotel on Saturday morning.
Ash will take to the stage at Montrose Town Hall on Friday, May 22 2015, kick-starting the weekend of music and their UK tour as they showcase their first album in eight years, ‘Kablammo!’.
Claire Carle, treasurer of MoFest, said: “Ticket sales, especially online, have been really strong.
“To have sold 200 tickets in the first two minutes exceeded our expectations and we’re really excited with the response from Ash fans and supporters of the Montrose Music Festival.
“We’ve been working hard to make as many tickets available as possible.
“An increased allocation of tickets has been made available online, although we expect them to sell fast.”
This year’s MoFest takes place from Friday to Sunday, May 22 to 24, with 210 free gigs in 26 local venues lined-up for music lovers.
Ash’s concert at Montrose Town Hall, which is for over-16s, is the only ticketed event of MoFest’s May weekend.
