Two Lathallan School pupils are both “delighted” to have gained five ‘As’ for their Highers.
Nick Winter (17), from Montrose, Finn Marsden (16), from Auchenblae, coincidentally studied the same subjects; Higher maths, English, chemistry, physics and biology.
However, they have different plans as to where they want to go after Lathallan School - Finn plans to apply to the University of Edinburgh to study medicinal and biological chemistry, whereas Nick aims to secure a place at Cambridge University to read mathematics.
Headmaster Richard Toley said: “Well done to Finn and Nick on their fantastic results.
“We were delighted with the exam results across the board at Lathallan School with almost a half of our S5 pupils gaining 5 Highers, and a quarter of our S4 contingent gaining six or more ‘As’ at National 5.”
Lathallan School has recently completed a new Science Centre. This new facility will allow specialised and modern Science teaching across all age levels at Lathallan, which will hopefully lead to more pupils achieving ‘As’ like Finn and Nick.
