PAUL James Clark, Westerton of Rossie, died tragically on Thursday morning when his motorcycle and a van were in collision.

Police reported that at approximately 7.10am on Thursday, June 2, on the A92, a yellow-coloured Kawasaki Ninja motorcycle, travelling south, was in collision with a white Mercedes Sprinter van.

The accident happened about a mile south of the big tree bends, and police have said that the van was emerging from a lay-by.

Mr Clark (33) was treated by the Scottish Ambulance Service, but he died at the scene of the crash. The 58-year-old man who was driving the van was uninjured.

Police closed the road in both directions and set up local diversions while crash investigators worked at the scene.

The police statement went on to say: “Mr Clark’s family has requested that their privacy is respected at this difficult time.”

Floral tributes were soon in evidence at the scene of the tragedy.

Enquiries into the full set of circumstances surrounding the incident are ongoing and a report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.

Tayside Police would appeal for any witnesses who saw either or both vehicles prior to the collision, or who witnessed the incident to contact the Force on 0300 111 2222, or speak to any police officer.
