Trying to prevent human trafficking

Nigel Don, the MSP for Angus North and Mearns, recently met with representatives from STOP THE TRAFFIK.

It is a global campaign bringing together individuals and organisations fighting to prevent human trafficking around the world. The aim is to increase awareness of trafficking; that people are deceived into allowing themselves to be moved around the world and then deprived of any ability to prevent themselves from being subjected to what is slavery.

He said: “As my constituency is made up of rural towns it is easy for us to think that human trafficking does not affect us, but after meeting with representatives from STOP THE TRAFFIK it is clear that this is something we all need to be aware of, so that we can deal with it.”
