Montrosians are being asked to put their best foot forward for the first ever moonlit walk around the town and raise some cash for charity at the same time.
The new event, called the Moontrose Night Walk, will take place on the first weekend in May when there will be a full moon.
It is a 5K or 10K walk around the streets of Montrose in the moonlight.
Starting and ending at The Park Hotel, John Street, the first Moontrose Night Walk is taking place on Saturday, May 2, at 10 p.m.
Both the longer and shorter routes are roughly a figure of eight around the streets of the town.
The Angus Committee for Cancer Research UK launched this new and “exciting” event at The Park Hotel last Tuesday evening (February 17) as a different way to raise funds for the charity.
The Angus Committee for Cancer Research UK are asking anyone interested in taking part in the event to sign up as soon as possible as places are limited.
Alana Loudon, chairwoman of the committee, said: “Come along and join this brand new event.”
She added: “Thank you to The Park Hotel for the ongoing support of this event and to the many walkers who have already signed up.”
Participants are being asked by the committee to raise sponsorship money through the Just Giving website.
All Moontrose Night Walkers will get a Moontrose T-shirt.
Booking a place costs £10 for both the 5k and 10k routes and the walks are open to all those aged 18 and over.
