Warm welcome for start of school year

As pupils return back to school, Angus Council’s Children and Learning Convener, Councillor Sheena Welsh has extended a warm welcome at the start of the new school year.

Councillor Welsh said: “I am delighted to welcome everyone back to the start of a new school year. I hope you all managed to enjoy some sunshine. I would also like to extend a warm welcome to all of the new children and their families who are joining our schools across the county this year.

“We enjoyed a very successful year last session and we look forward to another fantastic year of learning ahead.”

In all, 1218 pupils are due to start in Primary 1 at school today, with 19 twins among them.
