Weather vane restored by GSK workers

The new Montrose Lifeboat Station has had the RNLI’s 1900 weather vane restored, thanks to two apprentices from GSK Montrose.

Grant Forsyth and Connor Young had to use their ingenuity to repair and mount the vane, which was last worked in 1999 and had corroded badly.

Mel Robertson, GSK Engineering team manager said: “The boys enjoyed the challenge of not only repairing the vane but making it vandal-proof and also pleasing on the eye as it is now displayed at ground level.”
