Police in Montrose are appealing for information in respect of an incident of vandalism and threatening and abusive behaviour that occurred on the A92 Montrose to St Cyrus Road.

The incident took place on the A92 at Charleton Road and North Esk Road on Friday, August 26.

A Montrose Police spokesman said: “Shortly after 9pm on that date, a male in a white van stopped at the Charleton Road traffic lights and attempted to strike the driver of a yellow vehicle travelling in the same direction.

“A short time later, the white van overtook the yellow vehicle, the driver got out and proceeded to kick the yellow vehicle damaging the front passenger door.

“The male responsible is described as being 35 to 40 years of age, 5 foot 7 inches, slim build, bald head with receding grey hair around the sides and was wearing red army type trousers, green top and wearing steel toecap boots.
