Winter favourite returns to The Meffan

THE WINTER Exhibition 2012
at The Meffan in Forfar is now
open, featuring entries from
talented artists from all over Scotland.

A firm favourite with visitors, there were an enormous number of entries this year with over five hundred pieces of work put forward.

The judging panel, which included artists Louise Ritchie (President of Society of Scottish Artists) and June Carey (Royal Scottish Society of Painters in Watercolour), found choosing the winners extremely difficult due to the high standard of entries and so decided to give commendations to 22 other pieces of work.

The first prize this year went to Joe Fan – Dreaming of Babel and the runner-up is Helen Angell-Preece – Darling, Red.

All the exhibits can be viewed at The Meffan in West High Street. It is open Monday - Saturday, 10.00 a.m. to 5 p.m until Saturday, December 29, admission free.
