Work on Basin View to last for four weeks

Work on a busy Montrose road could cause delays for commuters.

Improvements on the A92 Basin View are scheduled to start next Monday (November 24) for four weeks.

The works involve tracking across the carriageway to install new ducts and cables, refurbishing the existing traffic signals, as well as associated localised footway works at all three crossings on Basin View.

These crossings are at the rear of the Co-Operative supermarket, near Montrose Railway Station; north of the A935 Medicine Well Drive Roundabout; and south of the North Esk Road Roundabout.

Lane closures will be used for the duration of the works at the crossing near Montrose Railway Station.

Temporary traffic lights for traffic control will be in place when the existing permanent lights are disconnected.

Part of Basin View will be closed to vehicles completely for approximately two weeks to allow works at the remaining two crossings to
take place.

Pedestrian and vehicle movements will be affected during these necessary works and road users should expect delays during peak times.

Alternative and dedicated routes for pedestrians will be clearly signed and assistance with crossing the road will be available for pedestrians who require it.

When the north section of Basin View is closed to vehicles, a diversion route via Medicine Well Drive and Brechin Road will be in operation.

Access will be maintained wherever possible for those affected by the works.
