Young and old came together as one in support of their local British Legion.

Members of the Royal British Legion Scotland Montrose branch were joined by instructors and cadets from the Montrose Air Training Corps and Montrose Army Cadet Force on Saturday, November 5 at Tesco to carry out a bag pack.

The fundraising effort was to realise funds for Operation Phoenix - the RBLS Montrose’s refurbishment programme.

They helped pack customers bags during the day, raising a total of £726.20.

Event organiser and Legion committee member Ally Hutchison said: “I would like to thank Kerry and Matt at Tesco for all their help prior to and on the day.

“Also, a huge thanks to the young cadets and their instructors who gave up their time to support us.

“This event is just one example of the strong bond between the uniformed services in Montrose and the Royal British Legion.”
