THE results are in. Our judges have been deliberating over which photographs will feature in our Angus Calendar 2009 – but picking a winner has been far from easy for our panel.
Hundreds of our readers submitted their favourite pictures to the competition over the last few weeks in the hope of winning a £150 voucher to spend at the Forfar Photo Centre and the standard was exceptionally high.

So difficult was picking a winner that each of our judges had vastly differing opinions on which photo stood out from the crowd.

But - after heated debate - a winner has been chosen. Steve Perks, from Condor Crescent, Montrose, stunned our judges with his photograph of a summer-time sunset at the town's famous basin.

It was a very close decision, with Auchmithie's Sheila Anderson, Allan Coutts of Froickheim and James Mackenzie from St Cyrus unlucky not to have claimed the star prize. However, their photographs will feature in our Angus Calendar 2009, with each of them also receiving a free copy on its release next month.

Also appearing in our calendar and receiving a free copy are: Sheila Marr, Arbroath; Malcolm McBeath, Kirriemuir; Katherine Murray, Montrose; Vince Jones, Arbroath; Joanna Edmonds, Forfar; Tony Agnew, Arbroath; Pam Wardlaw, Carnoustie; Graeme Davidson, Johnshaven.

Congratulations to each of our winners and especially to Steve Perks for his winning picture.

Thanks must also go to everyone who took part.
