Links Park Community Trust (LPCT), has expressed thanks to everyone who participated in this year’s 50 Day 5Km Challenge, raising vital funds in the process for itself but also for a host of local worthy causes.
On behalf of the Trust Gemma Lownie told the Review: “We at Links Park Community Trust are directing funds raised towards the development and delivery of programmes within our ‘Health’ strand. More information will follow very soon on our Facebook page.
“Many of our ‘challengers’ and representatives from chosen charities gathered at a celebration at Links Park Stadium on Friday night, where the total raised amount was announced and cheques were presented.”
Collectively, the amount raised was a massive £11,509.28, with LPCT benefiting from half of that total and nearly £6,000 being distributed to local causes.
Some charities that have benefited include Aidan’s Voice, Rhys Allan, McMillan Cancer and DEBRA.
Gemma added: “We are delighted with the amount raised and are hoping to make our 50day 5km Challenge even bigger and better next year!”
