Athletes finish with medal blitz

MONTROSE and District athletes brought the Summer season to a close at the Tayside Track and Field Championships held at Perth.

Gregor Maclean broke the championship best in the Under 17 high jump to win the gold medal in a personal best of 1.80m. He also won the gold medal in the javelin.

Dee Welsh blitzed the field in the Under 17 womens 100m and 200m taking gold medals in both events. She also set a personal best in the 300m hurdles to win the silver medal.

Stuart Turner smashed his personal best in the Under 15 boys 800m to take a well deserved silver. Stuart also set a personal best in the javelin.

Grant Lees set a personal best in the Under 15 boys hammer to win the gold medal.

Sophie Milne set a personal best in the Under 15 girls 75m hurdles.

Skye Petrie won the bronze medal with a personal best in the Under 13 girls discus. She also won the bronze medal in the javelin.

Euan Cassels set a personal best in the Under 11 boys javelin.
